The cool thing about Grand Galvez Resort, Autograph Collection is that it is located right on the beach and offers a variety of amenities such as a spa, outdoor pool, and a bar/lounge.
The staff was excellent. The brunch was great and the memories are over the top. We will return soon.

Great Experience
It was great. Very clean place and food was great. People were very nice.
We stayed for three nights for our 33nd anniversary getaway, since we’ve never been to Galveston, although we both grew up a few hours away. After exploring the city, this hotel is way above the rest! We loved the bar, restaurant, pool and hotel’s private beach. Our room was so comfortable.
Love the hotel, but there are some mainentance items that need to be taken care of before they become a problem. We rented two rooms one room's lock and door handle was a struggle to operate, timing from card insert to strong arming the door was necessary. Our room was not attended to the morning of our first stay and we had to ask for it the second day. One of our rooms did not have a mini fridge. The dining in food in the restaurant was just OK. The food generally was luke warm to cold. The crab cakes were dry and not very tasty. Reminded me of what might be ordered from a food supplier. One of the two main elevators did not work and apparantley hadn't worked in nearly a year. Come on Marriott, you can do better. There was an issue with our Bon Voy membership. My husband, (gay couple), has our membership registered under his name, so they would not honor it at the hotel. I bet you would if it was Mr. and Mrs. I gave that number when I booked the room by phone at the hotel. There didn't seem to be a problem at that time. We use Marriott whenever we can and are always having trouble with your app, (it doesn't work).
